7 Tips from Our Photographers for a Truly Romantic Shoot

Arrive at the location before the light, not after. The golden hour waits for no one. We always position couples and set up 15 minutes before the light peaks — that first half-hour of sunrise or the final 40 minutes before sunset is where the magic lives.

Forget the camera is there. The couples whose images look the most naturally romantic are the ones who stop thinking about posing. We’ll talk to you, crack jokes, give you activities — your job is to be present with each other, not perform for the lens.

Plan two locations, not five. A common mistake is trying to cover too many spots in one day. Two locations done well — with enough time to explore, settle in, and catch the right light — will always produce better images than five locations rushed.
